  • Classical Pilates is a movement practice developed in the early 20th century by Joseph and Clara Pilates that focuses on controlled, precise movements combined with breath work. It strengthens and lengthens muscles, improves flexibility and core strength, and enhances body awareness and posture. Classical Pilates emphasizes the connection between mind and body and focuses on the following 6 key principles:

Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, FLOW!

  • Both are beautiful practices that integrate breath and movement. Pilates emphasizes core strength, posture, and muscle control through dynamic, controlled movements, while yoga focuses on flexibility, balance, and mindfulness.

  • Pilates is good for EVERYONE!

  • Wear comfortable, fitted clothing that allows you to move freely. You can practice barefoot or in socks. (There is not a sock requirement at Flow House). We recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout your session.

Please remember your mat! Rental available for $1.

  • Please inform your instructor before class about any injuries, pain, or physical limitations. Pilates is highly adaptable, and our instructors are skilled at modifying exercises to accommodate different needs and abilities. If you're recovering from an injury or dealing with a chronic condition, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before starting Pilates. Consider scheduling a private session so we can provide personalized modifications and ensure you're moving safely. We take your wellbeing very seriously and want you to have a positive, pain-free experience. Don't hesitate to speak up during class—we are here for you!
